OCFCD Facility No. C05/06 1150-ft upstream Goldenwest St. to 1150-ft upstream Gothard Ave. including Murdy Channel and the confluence with Oceanview Channel
East Garden Grove - Wintersberg Channel (Goldenwest St. to Gothard Ave.)
This channel project converted a reach of earthen trapezoidal channel only capable of conveying runoff from storms with a recurrence magnitude of 10-years or less to a full 100-year conveyance facility. This project is one of several phases of an overall C05/C06 Improvement Program, and not until all the phases of this channel system are complete, will a level of protection from the 100-year storm event be provided to the adjoining community and watershed.
The channel is now 60-feet wide by 16-feet high. The project length was approximately 1900 linear feet, upstream of Goldenwest Street and downstream of Beach Boulevard within the City of Huntington Beach.
